REVOLUTION GOLDEN SUGAR BLUSH PALETTE

Revolution just recently dropped in Australia at Priceline stores, as soon as I realised I had to run in and grab a few products; there is one in particular I want to talk about though. Revolution's Blush Palettes.

When it comes to blush it isn't something I usually gravitate toward, more often than not skipping over this part during makeup application. More recently though there has been something pulling me toward a little flush of colour on the face, so when picking up some Revolution products I decided to swatch a few of the blush palettes and picked up my favourite of the bunch - Golden Sugar.

I don't know what I expected, I'd seen people all over Instagram using the brand and loving it, but when I looked at the super affordable price tag I wasn't expecting a lot. Admittedly when swatching I did find inconsistency not only between palettes but with product inside each. Little did I know when actually trying the powders out after purchasing I would get the shock of a lifetime.

As the name "Golden Sugar" suggests the blush palette  I picked up is full of warm toned highlighters, blush & a bronzer. Not only sticking to browns and gold though, there are pinks easily incorporated right in there too, this is a super accessible palette for anyone with an olive skin tone.

I have found the blush & highlights are best applied with any of soft bristle brush and although few of the powders have a small amount of full out in the pan but when applied to the skin, apply nicely, almost melting, leaving no harsh lines but still giving a blinding, luminescent finish. Both the blush and highlighters are buildable and easily blended out which is amazing for any blush newbie like myself. They last all day but be warned when applying the highlighters, they absolutely do pack a punch.

I find the bronzer to give a much softer effect but again is buildable. This shade does not come off muddy which is great for us light skinned gals (and guys) but I feel as though this is the one powder in this palette that may prove useless for any darker skinned users. Unfortunately the one personal complaint I do have is that the bronzer does fade very quickly even when primed and using a finishing spray - I'm not sure I'm game enough to try applying more at the start and letting it settle, I couldn't bare leave the house looking like that type of a mess.

Overall, although I do have some complaints and uncertainties, I am highly impressed with the quality of Revolution's Blush Palettes. They are absolutely perfect for anyone just starting out with makeup and don't want to spend a lot on quality products or those who don't have the money to spend on the well known brand names. These palettes will not break your bank and will leave you going back for more. I know myself I'll be picking up some of the other options to try out soon enough, along with a bunch of other Revolution products!

If you have tried any Revolution products or know a way to make the bronzer in this palette last longer please comment below! Help a sister out!

2 OVERNIGHT MASKS I CAN NOT LIVE WITHOUT

It's winter and if there is one thing I really struggle with skincare wise during the cold months it has to be face masks. For me personally there is nothing worst than sitting there with a cold sheet mask on my face or having to worry about getting up after 15 minutes to wash a mask off when I'm most probably comfy and warm. That is why I take to overnight solutions, a chance for me to hit the largest organ of my body with a little extra TLC while not compromising on comfort.

Not having to worry about something cold sitting on your skin or having to get up when cozy aren't the only benefits to an overnight mask. Most are created with hydration in mind. Although these masks are created to help with hydration you will still find that each mask is different and will still cater to a range of different needs; just look for those featuring ingredients you know help fight your problem areas.  Overnight masks also help lock in place and the absorption of any products you've applied before applying the mask, and work for deeper penetration than that of their wash off cousins.

I have found two that most definitely benefit my skin in different ways, two that I have/will be continuing to repurchase and I think deserve a shout out, to have the world know all about them.

Innisfree Green Tea Sleeping Mask:
We all know Green Tea is meant to help fasten your metabolism, but when applied in the form of Innisfree's Green Tea Sleeping Mask, generously to troubled skin overnight you'll wake to find those troubles washed away.

The reason I use and love this Green Tea mask, or in this case BEAUTY Green Tea (born specially for use on the skin, boasting to be 3.5 x more power than your typical Green Tea) is because it has potent anti-inflammatory properties thanks to its incredibly high Catechin content, ensuring any redness experienced from blemishes is reduced. This tea also holds powerful anti-bacterial properties, helping to prevent acne, kill bacteria and unclog pores.

This no stick, gel like formula sinks into the skin fast, perfect for applying right before bed. I find I see the best results when used during my skins troublesome phases, waking up to any breakouts being drastically reduced in size; almost appearing completely gone thanks to the disappearance of any redness caused by breakouts. Also because of consistency I reach for this bad boy when looking for a spot treatment on larger pimples - this has completely replaced my old bright pink spot treatment. This mask is a once a week go to, reaching for it more often if I can see areas becoming angry.

Available in store or online at Innisfree.

Origins Drink Up Intensive:
If you haven't heard about this moisturising baby... Where in the world have you been? I feel like this is one of Origins most talked about, well known products to date. Dare I say, a cult item?

This bad boy claims to help minimise premature ageing signs, while keeping skin hydrated for up to 72 hours. It features a range of highly beneficial ingredients including, Rose Water to aid in soothing the skin, Glycerin to help the skin maintain moisture and Apricot Oil which softens skin giving it more a supple appearance.

Applying this naturally sweet smelling face mask after showering, I find I wake up with no dryness around any sores from old blemishes, in fact more often then not scab sizing will have been dramatically reduced if not disappeared completely. Skin is "as soft as a babies bum", bright and fresh. Using this at least twice a week has become very natural to me, something I use when my skin needs a major pick me up.

Available in store or online at Mecca.

Overnight Masks are one of my best discoveries to date and I have so many more that it is an absolute must that I try out. I think this type of mask is something I'm going to hold on to for as long as I can. Which have you tried so far and your favourites of the bunch?

PAYOT HUILE FONDANTE DÉMAQUILLANTE MILKY CLEANSING OIL

My skin has been an issue for me since becoming a fully fledged adult; I have tried so many different diets, supplements, ways of cleaning my skin, wearing makeup/not wearing makeup and skincare products that if I were to go through them all we could be sitting here for the next 20 years. Only now at 26 am I finding my groove and those beautiful holy grail products that just seem to be working for me.

Payot is a cruelty free, French skincare brand whose oil cleanser I've been using since moving interstate in February. When I moved I found the cleanser that was once working for me was doing more harm than good in the new climate. I admit I had used this cleanser years before and remember enjoying it so when I once again needed something that would help assist my skin in staying hydrated, I had a good feeling this would be the one.

What is it?
Payot has a range of different cleansers to suit all types of skin and the conditions we may be struggling with. This Huile Fondante Démaquillante (translation: Cleansing Melting Oil) is suitable for all types.

Personally I find this cleanser  to help my dehydrated, resulting in excess oil production, skin hold onto moisture; in turn stopping excess oil production and lessening breakouts and cystic pimples. After cleansing I find that my skin is not left feeling tight or uncomfortable, I have found that what elasticity I had lost over time using the wrong products for me has been restored. This helps keep a youthful texture, something that I personally am getting worried about maintaining as I enter my late 20's and early 30's.

If you worry about feeling left with an oily residue, worry no more because I could not handle using a product that left my face feeling like there was anything on it rather than clean. This dual-textured cleanser promises to easily remove make up when applied directly to dry skin and then of course as you add water to the mix it will turn to a beautiful milky substance, washing away easily simply leaving you with a glowing complexion.

How do I use this product?
I use this cleanser both morning and night.

Before jumping in the shower I squirt one pump onto the palm of my hand, in small outward circular motions slather the formula over my dry face and in upward motion wipe my neck also. I then splash a little water onto my hands and  continue to work the product into my skin ensuring I hit every nook and cranny. Once I am satisfied with my self given facial massage I then wash my face clean from any residue with warm water; finishing off my skincare routine by drying my face with a clean, dry face washer and applying my current serums and my holy grail moisturiser.

Beneficial ingredients?
Payot's Huile Fondante Démaquillante Milky Cleansing Oil features a range of different oils to help benefit the skin but the one Payot is proud of and calls the star ingredient of this cleanser is Avocado Oil!

Avocado Oil Extract has many different benefits including but most definitely not limited to; helping with any inflammation or different skin conditions like psoriasis (this might actually be a contributing factor on why my psoriasis that covers the palms of my hands has been non existent since moving). Relating to this it is also found this oil helps with wound healing by promoting collagen production ( this Medical News Today article, where I got my benefit research from, does state that more research needs to be done to help support this claim though). Avocado Oil is also incredibly nourishing for the skin as it features potassium and lecithin, along with a range of other beneficial nutrients, these are easily absorbed by the skins epidermis layer resulting in new skin cells forming faster.

In conclusion I have been loving this cleanser and in the few weeks ahead am about to start my second bottle. Finding a cleansing product that leaves my face feeling smooth, having a glow and maintaining a cystic pimple free complexion is something I am super proud of. That is why this product is my holy grail cleanser that I recommend everyone try out.

Have you tried this product? If so what did you think? Will you be trying this product?

Available at Payot AU or Adore Beauty.
